Yup, bitches, still trans

I posted my original coming out on my old website, but now that I'm fully out, I figured I could revamp it and point people here in case they had any questions

I don't have all the answers, but I'm figuring things out. And here's the answers to some common questions you might have.

TLDR:

Trans FAQ

A:

Well, Hank Hill, first off, thanks for stopping by. Secondly, "Trans" is short for "Transgender". Aka "Not Cis".The lovely folks at The Trevor Project have typed out a much more detailed explanation of it so I don't have to.

A:

Honestly I'm pretty much out everywhere now so if this is how you're finding out then whoops but also, look, coming out is very scary and I couldn't think of a way to bring it up. This way, it's a lot less stressful for me, and you don't have to respond on the spot. Gives you some time to think about it. Honestly this is a win for everyone.

A:

The first time I remember thinking "But wait, I'm a girl" I was about 6 or so. A lot in junior high and high school. But since the 90s wasn't exactly trans friendly, I did my best to keep it all pressed deep down. Though I did say dumb shit like "I must be a lesbian trapped in a man's body" a lot.

A:

The way I dress/present myself, the pronouns I use, and some physical stuff too.

A:

Kind of a rude question, tbh. Let's just say that there are a lot of options and I'm still figuring out what's best for me.

That said, I've kinda got boobs now. Grew 'em myself.

A:

She/her right now. And if you're not comfortable with that, know that any respect I have for you dies a little bit every time you misgender me.

A:

Leaning really hard towards Winifred, right now. Pay homage to the old while embracing the new. But I also answer to Fred or Winnie as nicknames.

A:

Shouldn't, hopefully. You'll still be you. I'll still be me, just moreso. And cuter.

A:

According to the welcome pamphlet, I'm a lesbian ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm still getting used to that term for myself so I'm more likely to say "Transbian" or "Sapphic", but regardless of the label, my preference is not men.

A:

Firstly, fuck off right to the moon.

Secondly, no. That sounds like a you problem

A:

Me, personally? The one at my house if it is at all possible. Public bathrooms are gross and I have heated toilet seats.

But I do believe that trans people should be able to use the bathroom they identify with, and legislation to the contrary is grosser than public bathrooms.

A:

Not a question! But, I guess that means I was really good at covering up who I was. Like I said, I was trying to bury it real deep.

A:

Also not a question! But either you're perceptive, or I didn't do as good a job hiding things as I thought. Glad this explains things, I guess.

A:

I'm pretty sure he's not trans.

A:

This has gotten way more complicated in the time since I wrote the first version of the Q&A. Back then, the wizard lady had just said some transphobic shit and seperate the art from the artist and all that.

But recently, she's proven an active supporter (verbally and financially) of people and organizations that are actively seeking to harm trans folks and deny them care. So... yeah.

I don't want to police anyone's media consumption. Eww. Police. But I'd ask that you don't support anything that gives her money.

And honestly, if that's still a franchise near and dear to your heart, or that you make a tentpole of your personality, you're gonna get some side-eye until I know I can trust you.

If this doesn't answer your questions, I have this Curious Cat page thing where you can ask pretty much anything and I might even answer
